Share  Some guys have everything. The latest marker, gear, you name it, they got the latest and greatest. SITE Inc., the creators of the Stiffi barrels, Switch Kits and employer of Naomi Tirado (with whom this writer has a school-boy crush on) has come up with the item that the player with everything doesn't have: “The Ultimate” barrel blocking device. Barrel Blocking Devices, or BBD's replaced barrel plugs a few years ago, the brainchild of insurance man Larry Cossio. Because they're physically attached to the marker when properly used, it's quite a bit safer than using a barrel plug because it's not possible to shoot off a BBD. Some are better than others but “The Ultimate” BBD takes it to the next level. What sets The Ultimate BBD apart from the pack is materials. SITE Inc. specializes in Carbon Fiber, and The Ultimate BBD doesn't stray from their core skills. Made of metal and Carbon Fiber, this is the BBD for the guy who has everything. During testing, we found that The Ultimate BBD fit on every barrel we could find, including Stiffi barrels, a LAPCO SnapShot, and a DYE Ultralight. I was initially concerned at first glance that The Ultimate BBD wouldn't fit on the UL, but it went on no problems. While walking around staging areas, I was warned several times to put a barrel cover on, only to have the warner take a second look and notice I actually did have one on! When on a carbon fiber barrel, The Ultimate BBD blends in too well, which can have consequences on field if you get shot out, put your BBD on and walk around...at first glance The Ultimate BBD blends in and is barely noticeable. For future runs, SITE is making the BBD in brighter contrasting colors so it's more obvious SITE initially made 70 Ultimate BBD's, and they sold out in record time. Another run is being scheduled so it'll be available again in the very near future. Having absolutely everything has a price, and with an MSRP of $20, The Ultimate BBD is expensive when compared to the usual cloth BBD.
