The 2013 World Cup did not disappoint, with new markers, new goggles and new gear coming from big companies and smaller companies alike! What few expected at the largest and final professional paintball tournament of the year, historically the place where all the hot new tournament equipment is first shown to thousands of excited customers, was for the most talked-about item at the show to be a scenario/tactical paintball gun. However, arguably the hottest product at the 2013 PSP World Cup was a tactical marker, the new Empire DFender.

New E-Icon Marker From JT Paintball

Written by

The E-Icon is JT Paintball's latest release in their new revamped line of products (Pictured above as part of the "Mega Kit").

When Tippmann released the Crossover marker a while back, it was greeted with excitement that the company that traditionally catered to woodsball play would attempt to “cross over” with a paintball gun looking and shooting like something aimed more at competitive paintball, and then acceptance as players who tried the marker found it to be a solid mid-level performer.

The people behind the company known as GOG, the same people that introduced the original Shocker in 1995, now believe they have another game-changer in their new eNMEy pneumatic regulated spool valve marker. The eNMEy, due for release any day will be priced at the same level as your entry level blowback marker. “There’s no hammer, mainspring or sear in the eNMEy(TM). You’ve got to shoot it to believe it,” says GOG’s Adam Gardner, referring to the smooth performance made possible by the marker’s spool valve design. “That’s why we’re inviting paintball techs from around the world to take the eNMEy(TM) tech class free of charge at this year’s World Cup – and to leave with an eNMEy(TM) of their own.” Visit for more.

Valken Zing Paintballs

Written by

Newsflash – not everyone that plays paintball shoots a $1000 marker and the top grade of paintballs available. In fact there a lot less of those than the rest of us that shoot $250 markers and field grade paint. All of that said, Valken’s Zing paintballs are an excellent entry level/field grade paintball. The slightly thicker shell allows the paint to be shot in guns that are a little tougher on paint—namely many of the entry level markers—and that’s a good thing. Zing Paintballs are 100% PEG, which means they are safer for the environment then some paintballs. Check them out here.
