Share Wednesday 830AM: Another amazing day at D-Day Tuesday. Tippmann held a TPX Two-Man Challenge, the second Mini scenario was played in the valley and it was an amazing three-hour battle (more on this later), night airball games were going back to back, the vendor village stared jumping (and it was only Tuesday), and teams and units were training all day. More tonight. Tuesday 10:45 PM: Photo Gallery Added HERE
Tuesday, 7:30AM: Yesterday was a very busy day at D-Day for a Monday. Players and industry members have been here since as early as last Friday setting up their trade show booths, trucks and camps (players). Players continue to stream in 24/7 and this game is expected to be even bigger than last year's game. There fields are amazing. Dewayne gave us his famous jeep tour yesterday and showed us all of the new things they are introducing this years and told us a bit about his vision for D-Day going forward. First of all the 182nd Airborne built an amazing building on the site that will be their headquarters throughout the week. Dewayne recently picked up concrete spraying equipment and is spraying many of the building and all of the structures on the field, giving them an incredibly realistic look. "We're going to eventually spray all of the buildings in the vendor area to give them a European village look," Dewayne told us. He also told us about a new 100 acre piece of land that they recently bought that will already be in use for next year's game."We're going to put a paved road in and add parking for 30,00 people so we can bring in the locals to be part of this. Right now we have nowhere to park them. We'll run a shuttle bus for spectators that will bring them into the main area. We've been in contact with concert promoters that run large concerts - 30,000 person concerts. The parking situation will allow us to do so much more," Dewaye continued.Yesterday afternoon the first mini scenario game got underway at 4PM sharp. It was held at the new Caen part of the field. Amazing. The huge cement structures will blow you away. The game began with both the Allied forces and Germans fighting for Caen. The Allied forces quickly pushed into the village and forced the Germans back to their far lines. After a restart the Germans pushed up into the brush and woods at Caen and battled for more than an hour to take it back. The roughly 600 players in Monday's game were the first to play the new field. Much more from D-Day all week. long.
