When the 2008 NPPL San Diego Commander's Cup ended, no one knew what was going to happen just a few weeks later. To the shock of many the league announced its own coming demise. So the league that's been in existence since 1993 will not be producing an event in 2009, unless of course, someone steps forward and buys the name and resurrects the league. That would take some very fast doing since the season will be in full swing in about three months. There was a lot going on in this sunny San Diego event. There was a five-man event, the Spyder Cup, five divisions of seven-man and a pump-gun event. In the Pro Division it was San Diego Dynasty winning seven of their eight preliminary round games and were the only team to do so. Impact, Tampa Damage and Arsenal each won six prelim games. In the Elite Eight Dynasty again won all but one game and were on fire moving to the final four. In the end it was Dynasty winning the San Diego Open and that coupled with the Ironmen missing the first cut, allowed Dynasty to win the 2008 rankings title. This is the sixth straight NPPL Pro title they have won. Arsenal Evolution ran through the event and all the way to the first place spot on the podium. They were also able to lock in the 2008 Semipro title. First Place Pro Division - Dynasty
